Fractals were a kind of music, expressed in geometric confines. Repetetive but slowly evolving.
I don't know who took that picture but, as a member of BMG, I invented that thing and more. Wonderful to work with Chris Wink, Phil Stanton, Matt Goldman, Goeffrey Quelle, Larry Heinnemann and Ian Pai.
From 1996 to 1999, I was a member of Blue Man Group In New York as "Inventor Guy" ripping apart pianos, wiring my own guitar pickups and running various assorted loved folk instruments from all cultures though a bandsaw. I designed and built the Tubes for the shows in Boston and Chicago, and established a recording studio and experimental instrument laboratory, working closely with Chris Wink.
